Career Summary
Phil has experience in the past ten years providing support at management level in the MRO of aircraft engines (Dart, JT8D and V2500), and most aspects of sales and marketing, market research and analysis, and contracting within Christchurch Engine Centre (CHCEC) which is the joint venture between Pratt & Whitney and Air New Zealand Limited. His 38 years experience with the Air New Zealand Group involved positions in Auckland, Seattle, London and Christchurch.
Prior to 1989 in Air New Zealand Engineering Services (ANZES) he had technical services design and project management responsibilities, followed by MRO sales and marketing experience from 1989. In 2009 he started AvPlan Limited.

Projects: some examples
- Tender submission support – subcontractor to major US prime contractor for C-9 CLS – as JT8D MRO provider ( May 2006 and 2009)
- A Business Case for PW100 Turboprop MRO capability (2002, revised 2004 and 2009).
- Tender submission – bid to Lockheed Martin for C-130 ski manufacture prepared and won in 1993 for ANZES manufacturing; 8 ship-sets including local and international parts manufacturing.
- Concept Paper for an Internet Website for the Royal Aeronautical Society – NZ Division - Prepared by H.G. McCarroll and P.A. Brazier (2001)
- Tender submission – Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-130 tender response co-written with Australian consultant, Qualtek International – ANZES won November 1989 and contract held by ANZES for 10 years.
- Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) engine instrument tender prepared and won with Australian consultant, Qualtek Innovations 1994 (1000+ components per year).
- Tender submission – to Royal Australian Air Force for F404 DLM – as contributor to Qualtek International, Melbourne bid - won for ANZES - Auckland in 1995.
- Analysis of Optimum Age for Disposal of 737 Fleet Aircraft and Optimum Age of Aircraft to be purchased as Replacements (1984).
